Sapphire has announced the launch of its new, free, web-based Resource Centre, developed specifically for architects, specifiers, and design professionals designing balcony systems for residential and mixed-use developments.
The Sapphire Resource Centre brings together all of Sapphire’s digital specification tools, case studies, and technical documentation into one easy-to-access online platform. Designed to simplify and accelerate the design and specification process, it provides access to detailed technical drawings, 3D models, compliance guidance, the latest fire-safety innovations, and a clever 3D Visualiser, which allows users to view and refine balcony configurations in a fully rendered digital environment, giving users everything they need to design fully compliant, high-performing balcony solutions.

The Resource Centre supports every stage of the balcony design journey, from early concept to detailed specification. Users can browse and download Sapphire’s full range of innovative balcony systems, each designed for smarter installation, long-lasting durability, and contemporary aesthetics. For early-stage design work, interactive configuration tools and calculators help architects and engineers explore design options, assess compliance, and understand how design choices impact project cost and performance.
Quick access is also provided to Sapphire’s full suite of technical documentation, including CAD and Revit models, specification sheets, carbon performance data, and fire-safety and thermal-break solutions. Each document is designed to help design teams make accurate, up-to-date, and compliant design decisions. Users can also explore detailed case studies, each supported by an NBS specification that illustrates how Sapphire’s balcony systems have helped architects and contractors overcome complex challenges, streamline delivery, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Registered users can personalise their experience, uploading project drawings and files to collaborate directly with Sapphire’s design engineers, and develop bespoke solutions that balance compliance, performance, and aesthetics. Saved resources and previous searches are securely stored, allowing users to return to their favourite tools and references at any time. For those that would like a little more design support with their project, booking a CPD session with a Sapphire expert couldn’t be easier, simply fill in the form and someone will be in contact.
The launch of the Resource Centre comes at a time when building regulations are evolving rapidly, with significant updates to Approved Documents B, L, and M, as well as increased emphasis on fire safety, carbon reduction, and accessibility. Sapphire’s Resource Centre helps design professionals keep pace with these changes by ensuring that every product, tool, and specification supports full compliance with BS EN standards and current UK legislation.

To ensure that the Resource Centre remains current, relevant and useful, it will be continuously updated and refined; future innovations are already in planning and include a carbon performance data tool as well as a Complexity Calculator that will demonstrate how reducing design variations and increasing repetition can significantly improve build efficiency and cost outcomes.
Commenting on the launch, a Sapphire spokesperson said: “We’ve designed the Resource Centre to make balcony specification simpler, smarter, and more compliant. It gives architects and specifiers the confidence that their designs meet the latest regulations while supporting creativity and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.”
Each case study within the Resource Centre demonstrates Sapphire’s proven expertise in delivering safe, sustainable, and visually striking balcony solutions across a wide range of developments. From concept to completion, the platform empowers specifiers to make informed, compliant, and cost-effective design choices.
