As part of the Huller & Cheese development, Atkinson & Kirby have provided engineered lacquered flooring for the apartments and penthouses in keeping with the original character of the building.
The Huller & Cheese development, in Bristol, has undergone a huge transformation from a Grade II listed building and former warehouse into 50 new contemporary apartments, that overlook Bristol’s Floating Harbour.
Before the development began, the distinctive characteristics of both buildings were taken into consideration. The Cheese Factory has large windows and concrete columns, whereas Huller House has exposed brick, timber and ironwork. In additional to the original structures, two brand new storeys have been added to the buildings, creating six luxury penthouse apartments.
Gollop Contract Flooring Ltd, based in Bristol, handled the specification and installation of the flooring. The company decided to use Atkinson & Kirby’s Caledonian Oak flooring, to add a timeless feel to both Huller House and the Penthouses, whilst also complimenting the traditional features.
