Bison Manufacturing, the UK’s leading precast concrete manufacturer, has supplied more than £1 million of its products for the construction of a new multi-storey car park at University Hospital Llandough in Penarth.
Specified by Laing O’Rourke, 130 precast columns and 176 beams were utilised in the construction of the new £12 million car park.
The project saw 8,000m² of Bison’s 400mm deep slab Hollowcore units selected, enabling longer spans while reducing the need for intermediate columns, increasing floor space.
Mike Nelson, Sales and Commercial Manager at Bison Manufacturing, said: “We have a long history in car park construction, and through advancements such as the use of cast-in lifting hooks we’re able to provide a quality solution that is quick to install on site.”
Bison has been specified for a number of recent car park projects, including a 40,000m² vehicle storage facility at the Port of Southampton and 25,000m² multi storey car park at Alder Hey Hospital. Liverpool.
