The MCRMA (Metal Cladding & Roofing Manufacturers Association) has approved three new member companies, further expanding the association’s representation of the complete metal cladding and roofing supply chain.
Thomas Panels & Profiles and Axis Group join the MCRMA as ‘system manufacturers’ and Davies Technical Consultancy becomes a member within the ‘industry support’ category.
Their addition brings the association’s membership to a total of 58 organisations, representing all stages of the metal building envelope supply chain from design, product manufacturing, testing and specialist consultancy to installation, maintenance and repair.

Highlighting the importance of MCRMA membership to system manufacturers, Charles Walters, Commercial Director at Thomas Panels & Profiles, said: "We've never lost sight of what made our business successful in the first place – honest advice, reliable service and people our customers can speak to directly. Our involvement in the MCRMA will enable us to strengthen our people focus by enabling us to further develop our relationships with industry professionals right along the steel building envelope supply chain. We also look forward to the technical support and promotional opportunities that come with being part of the association.”
The Herefordshire-based company is a manufacturer of premium steel roofing and cladding systems, with every product manufactured to order to provide customers with fully bespoke solutions tailored to their project’s specific technical and structural requirements. The company operates from a 34,000 sq. ft facility in Leominster, and works with customers across the agricultural, industrial and domestic sectors.
Fellow new member Axis Group manufactures metal façade systems, roofing, cladding and custom metal fabrications – also tailored to meet project requirements using the latest CAD technology and 3D modelling design systems. The skills and capabilities within the manufacturing team of the Leeds-based company mean it can offer customers laser cutting for highly accurate and efficient material processing, bending for shaping materials to exact specifications, and full fabrication solutions from concept to project completion.
Commenting on why Axis Group chose to join the MCRMA, the company’s Jamie Hartley, Technical Manager, said: “Joining the MCRMA reflects Axis Group's commitment to technical excellence and delivering safe, compliant roofing and façade solutions. Being part of the association helps us stay at the forefront of industry best practice while contributing to the continued development of the sector.”
Occupying a different but equally important point in the supply chain, Davies Technical Consultancy specialises in product development, innovation and problem-solving. Working with manufacturers, supply chain partners and contractors, the company helps them make informed decisions and deliver reliable, robust solutions. In addition, the company seeks to bridge the gap between technical detail and commercial impact, such as through supporting component and system design, product innovation, performance enhancement, testing programmes or standards compliance.
Founder of Davies Technical Consultancy, Lee Davies, said: “I have been a major collaborator with the MCRMA for over 20 years. Throughout that time, as a full manufacturer member, I played an active role in supporting the association's work, making significant contributions to its technical publications, best practice guidance, and the development of industry standards.
“Now, as an independent consultant, I am proud to be a member of such a respected and authoritative association, sharing its commitment to advancing technical excellence, driving continuous improvement, and setting new standards across the metal roofing and cladding industry. I am delighted to be in a position to continue contributing to the development of the guidance and technical resources relied upon by designers, contractors, manufacturers, and the wider industry.”
