A prestigious coastal development in Jersey is benefitting from the clean, contemporary lines of Skyline Architectural Aluminium fascia, soffits and copings, from Alumasc Water Management Solutions (AWMS).
Andium Homes are Jersey’s largest provider of affordable housing, and their Edinburgh House development on Green Street in St Helier, was a long time in the making.
The site, formerly known as La Collette Low Rise, was originally home to listed buildings and protected open spaces, meaning a sympathetic approach and a number of enabling works were required prior to construction taking place.
Designed by Morris Architects and delivered on behalf of Andium Homes by main contractor, Dandara, Edinburgh House comprises three residential blocks creating 147 new homes, private balconies and landscaped communal gardens. Its beautiful coastal location and sleek modern appearance, demanded a robust fascia and soffit solution that could not only withstand the marine weather conditions, but that would also complement the architectural design aesthetics.
Morris Architects and Dandara worked together in the specification of Skyline Architectural Aluminium from Alumasc. They were very specific in their requirement for a five-piece fascia and soffit system, which needed to work well with the traditional construction of Edinburgh House.

Manufactured in the UK from superior lightweight aluminium, Skyline’s high-quality aesthetic complemented the building design perfectly, whilst also achieving budget expectations.
The Skyline technical team made numerous site visits during the course of the project, providing full drawings, sectional details, full schematic layouts, samples and a full take-off service. The Skyline five-piece fascia and soffit system was installed on all three buildings, with Skyline copings used on each parapet and around the perimeter of all top roofing areas. All products were colour co-ordinated with Alumasc’s BBA approved polyester powder coating in Mouse Grey RAL7005M.
To complete the rainwater management solution, Flushjoint downpipes from Alumasc Rainwater were specified for all three buildings. Flushjoint is a contemporary range of extruded aluminium downpipes with concealed spigots which give a smooth, clean finish to blend perfectly with the minimalist façade. The Flushjoint system was supplied with a CP40 circular downpipe profile, BBA approved polyester powder coated in white, to colour match the building exterior. Flushjoint is inherently lightweight and easy to install.
The aluminium used in the manufacture of both Skyline and Flushjoint is 100% recyclable.
