For owners of Panache restaurant in Poynton, Diane and Gary McCabe, running their own business makes being able to enjoy any downtime the couple do get to spend together at home all the more important. Wanting to make the most of their outside space all year round, they called on CRL and the team at Cheshire Bespoke Glass & Doors in Poynton to help.
The brief was straightforward enough - to open up the outside space while protecting it from the weather and retaining the gorgeous views of Winter Hill and Manchester in the distance.
Cheshire Bespoke Glass & Doors Managing Director, Anthony Richards, explains: “Our brief was to provide the client with a multi-use room and extension to the existing kitchen area. They were very keen to retain the open view aspect to the property and also wanted to enjoy entertaining friends in spatial surroundings with a fabulous view.”
The project began with the installation of new raised decking, complete with CRL Posiglaze, a fully adjustable glass balustrade system that uses a unique clamping design and a quick and easy adjustable method to align glass panels with no handrail. On this, Anthony comments: “Posiglaze is easy to install and great for enhancing the view across the back of the property. Obviously, the decking is raised so needed a barrier for safety. CRL Posiglaze is fast, easy to install and adjust, attractive, safe and secure.”
Cleverly designed out of extruded aluminium, saving weight yet keeping strength, the system is lightweight yet extremely strong. Posiglaze uses a unique, simple adjustment system allowing horizontal alignment of each glass panel making it fully adjustable and possible to install even on an uneven surface.
When the homeowners mentioned that they would like a Glass Room as part of the project, the team at Cheshire Bespoke Glass & Doors accompanied them on a visit to the CRL showroom in North Manchester, and their minds were quickly made up and an order placed.
Installation of the CRL Glass Room was just as speedy, taking just three days to complete by Anthony and his team. Commenting on the fitting process, Anthony said: “The Glass Room is well engineered and manufactured, with quality machined components resulting in a straight forward assembly and Install by our team.”

CRL Glass Rooms feature an intelligent modular design, with an aluminium structure that requires minimal supports, even over large areas. The innovative connectors give a high degree of flexibility with many variations possible, while optional extras including sliding doors, vertical blinds and electric roof blinds come together to create a unique space that can be used all year round.
Diane and Gary opted for bi-parting doors to the front of the Glass Room and sliding doors to the sides. LED lighting means they can make use their Glass Room long into the evening. Whilst the electric roof blind protects them from the bright sunshine.
