Marley Plumbing and Drainage has announced an extension to its HDPE Drainage system, offering specifiers and contractors more choice.
Responding to the need for easier access on sites that are tight for space, a new 3m pipe in 110mm size has been introduced to the range. This addition is extremely light to maneuver and install, as well as being easier to transport, particularly on smaller vehicles.
Another new addition is a 56mm boss adaptor, available in 32mm and 40mm sizes. Using the new boss adaptor with 56mm HDPE fittings provides freedom for the installer or designer to connect to a variety of other materials such as PVCu, PVCc or ABS.
Marley’s HDPE Drainage system has proved to be extremely popular as a highly credible alternative to cast iron and the range already includes an extensive package of pipe, bends, electrofusion couplers, branches, branch balls and access pipes. To ensure continued demand is met across the board, there is now an even greater volume of stock available in all core pipe sizes - from 56mm to 315mm.
The high-density polyethylene system was the first to achieve Kitemark certification to BS EN 1519. It is manufactured to meet high standards of durability and reliability, and is therefore particularly suited for commercial applications or where a product with high impact or abrasion resistance is required, such as hospitals, hotels, schools, as well as residential buildings. HDPE will also cope with temperature variations of -40°C to 100°C making it ideal for external as well as internal installations.
The combination of the excellent material properties of HDPE with homogenous welded joints provides greater installation flexibility with a wide range of jointing options. The various connection methods include electrofusion, butt welding and push fit expansion sockets depending upon the particular project requirements. This ensures a quick, clean, reliable and cost effective installation compared to cast iron in particular. Furthermore, the lightweight construction of the HDPE system results in additional cost savings in transport and handling.
David Barker, Category Manager for Soil and Waste at Marley, comments: “To support the expansion of our HDPE range, we have combined specification guidance together with design and installation advice in to one new, clear and concise reference tool that offers as much support as possible to our customers.”
