Lakesmere and Hemsec Installations have joined forces to offer a unique new approach to the design, manufacture and installation of engineered structural insulated panels (SIPS) where the benefits of supply chain collaboration are built in.
Up to five times faster than traditional construction methods, Thru-Wall offers a unique, modular, fast-track, lightweight, sustainable and cost-effective means of constructing the building envelope. Thru-Wall also comes complete with a full, latent defect 20-year SIPS/external finish insurance cover - the only combined cover available in the UK. A dedicated new website to support the new venture – www.thru-wall.com - is now online.
Maximising the individual skills and expertise of the two companies to provide full accountability, Thru-Wall is set to be a true collaborative venture with Hemsec Installations manufacturing and installing the SIPS panels and Lakesmere providing design and technical support as well as undertaking the external cladding.
The Thru-Wall SIPS panels will be offered in a range of cladding finishes, which, whether site of factory finished, lend themselves perfectly to the many advantages of off-site construction. The comprehensive package of design, manufacture and installation offered by Lakesmere and Hemsec Installations will provide the industry with the speed, cost effectiveness, consistency of quality and design flexibility that so many projects demand and unlike any other offer on the market, the reassurance of an insurance backed 20 year warranty.
The development of Thru-Wall follows Lakesmere and Hemsec Installations’ earlier collaboration on the new St. Pancras Hotel project, which owing to the scheme’s limited access, facilitated the need to develop an innovative solution of a prefabricated roof and wall panel with zinc cladding system.
To find out more and see Thru-Wall in action, an exclusive launch event is being held on Tuesday 8th March at the premises of key supply chain partner Sotech in Peterlee, County Durham. The open day will feature a full two-storey structural building example and practical demonstration of the product, technical presentations and the opportunity to speak with key representatives from Lakesmere and Hemsec Installations who will be on hand to answer any questions.
