Legrand’s Arteor building automation system has been installed in the show home of Fielding Meadow – an eco-development being built in Ratby, Leicestershire by Cawrey Homes.
Comprising 36 sustainable homes, the development meets Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, while the show home incorporates a raft of environmentally friendly features and technologies that enable it to use an estimated 35 to 50 per cent less energy than a standard new build home.
These features include living sedum roofs, air source heat pumps and the Arteor building automation system, which controls lighting and audio throughout the four bedroom detached show home property.
Richard Hayward, marketing manager for Legrand’s building automation systems, said: “Lighting accounts for a significant percentage of energy usage in the home and something as simple as a sensor that automatically switches lights off when nobody is in a room can cut bills dramatically.”
“Our Arteor system goes beyond this and delivers a tailored lighting solution that ranges from simple sensors through to scenario switching, which enables the homeowner to change all lighting in one room, even the entire house, with the press of just one switch.”
“Not only does this help to reduce energy usage it also takes residential lighting to a new level, both in terms of control and sophistication.”
Combining cutting edge style with state-of-the-art technology, the Arteor range features an incredible array of styles, including round and square product options, and covers everything from switches and sockets through to the most advanced automation systems. Furthermore, the availability of 17 different surround plate finishes, which range from simple stylish white moulded designs through to sophisticated and innovative materials such as woven metal, brushed steel and wood, extends the appeal of Arteor far beyond any other similar range.
John Cawrey, director of Cawrey Homes, added: “Fielding Meadow has been designed to deliver energy saving homes that are excitingly different and Arteor fitted the bill perfectly thanks to the distinctive style and the notable energy saving benefits.”
“Prospective buyers are fascinated by the lighting controls, particularly the detail ring around the light switches which illuminates pink when on and blue when off.”
