The CBI today reacted positively to the announcement that the Government plans to release publicly-owned land for the development of up to 100,000 new homes.
Dr Neil Bentley, CBI Deputy Director-General, said:
“We’re facing a housing crisis, and this will go some way towards making more land available for new homes.
“While today’s announcement is a step in the right direction, the Government should also work with local councils to loosen their grip on local authority-owned land.
“Beyond this, we need the Government to speed up the planning system.”
