Cheltenham’s luxury destination, Ellenborough Park, has appointed Nick Walley as operations manager.
Nick joins the senior management team, reporting directly to the general manager. He is responsible for all day to day operations and standards, with a particular focus on food and beverage, including The Brasserie, fine dining in The Beaufort Dining Room, conferences, banqueting and room service.
He joins from The Vineyard at Stockcross, a five star hotel and spa in Berkshire. With more than ten years experience, Nick has worked for some of Britain’s finest hotel names, including The Ritz in London, Hampshire’s Chewton Glen and the Hilton Group.
The University of Gloucestershire graduate has a proven track record in customer service and food and beverage management, which fits well with Ellenborough Park’s excellent reputation.
Nick said: “Ellenborough Park has achieved enviable success in a short period of time. I’m looking forward to sharing my experience, bringing in new ideas and working alongside its high calibre team.”

Ellenborough Park has achieved much since it opened in March 2011, including becoming Gloucestershire’s first AA Five Star hotel and spa; winning Hotel of the Year at the 2012 Cotswold Tourism Awards; UK’s Leading Country House Hotel and the UK’s Leading Spa Hotel at the 2011 World Travel Awards.
Furthermore, executive head chef, David Kelman, was recently appointed head of the Welsh National Culinary Team and has cooked for the Royal Family several times. Tobias Brauweiler, head sommelier, is a finalist in this year’s Moët UK Sommelier of the Year and was awarded the Court of Master Sommeliers’ Pommery Award last November.
