Superglass, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of glass mineral wool insulation, has secured the prestigious Code for Construction Product Information (CCPI) verification for its Superwall Cavity Batts range - one of the first insulation products to obtain this verification.
Superwall Cavity Batts provide thermal insulation in cavity walls to meet required U-Values.
These products are approved by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) and are deemed non-combustible with a fire classification of Euroclass A1 (the highest possible rating) when tested to BS EN 13501-1:2018 Reaction to Fire.
This is just the first step for Superglass’ CCPI credentials, as more of its products are on the verge of achieving the same verification in the coming weeks.
CCPI verification is only awarded to products where information on performance is clear, accurate, accessible, up-to-date and unambiguous. This is becoming increasingly important to specifiers and buyers looking for guarantees and safeguards in product performance claims.
CCPI was initiated as a direct response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety set up in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. It is designed to drive a transformational step-change in product information management and marketing across the built environment, ensuring that marketing claims are evidence-based and substantiated to improve reliability and trust across the sector.
While the Code is currently voluntary for companies, Superglass has committed to it to demonstrate its pledge of being a trusted and reliable manufacturer of glass mineral wool insulation.
