Insulation specialist Actis has launched a new series of its popular mini How To videos – with the latest tranche focusing on its quick, clean and easy to fit flagship insulation product Hybris.
The new half dozen visual guides address everyday situations faced by builders installing insulation.
Easily accessible on site via an iPad or smartphone the guides give clear, easy instructions which installers can use ahead of time or the moment they are faced with a query over installation techniques.
The first video shows how easy it is to install Actis Hybris – one of the three CE marked mix and match Actis Hybrid products – in a timber frame wall.
The NHBC approved honeycomb style insulation material, which also has LABC and LABSS registered details, is now available in panel form in thicknesses from 50mm to 205mm.
The remaining five videos give clear instructions on how to trim Hybris, how to insert electrical wire, pipes and ducting through the material, how to cut the product and how to install it behind timbers.
The videos also offer a link to Actis’ unique on line simulator tool, which enables specifiers to examine four different scenarios in which they may use Hybrid products – a pitched roof, ceiling, masonry or timber frame wall. It shows them the U-value likely to be achieved by mixing and matching Hybris insulation, vapour control layer HControl Hybrid and breather membrane Boost R Hybrid and by adjusting the thickness of the Hybris.
The guideline results can then be saved as a pdf or emailed to the Actis technical team who can use the figures to help prepare a project specific calculation and a comprehensive report to be included in a planning application.
