Saint-Gobain, the world leader in the sustainable habitat and construction markets, is bringing its expertise to the UK Passivhaus Conference, the largest exhibition of its kind in the UK.
Held in partnership with the Passivhaus Trust and BRE, the conference, held on 20 October, will showcase the latest in the Passive House movement and will give delegates the chance to learn about the development of large-scale housing projects in the UK.
Experts will be on hand to discuss the Passive House standard and Saint-Gobain’s Passive House Tradesperson course in partnership with the Passive House Academy and CITB (Construction Industry Training Board). The intensive two-day course, accredited by the Passivhaus Institut, offers hands-on training at one of Saint-Gobain’s Technical Academies.
Visitors can hear more on the course from the co-founders of the Passive House Academy, Tomas O’Leary during the main conference, and Art McCormack, over at the Saint-Gobain stand.
Stacey Temprell, Residential Sector Director at Saint-Gobain UK and Ireland, said: “The tradesperson course is designed to give participants the tools they need to build a competitive advantage and improve their business prospects as certified experts, ready for the growing demand for Passive House buildings. Look out for new course dates during 2016.”
Meanwhile on the Saint-Gobain stand (19), visitors can find out more about ‘My Comfort’, a Multi-Comfort concept which builds on Passive House standards. The concept takes a holistic approach to building and design, providing energy-efficient buildings that achieve positive wellbeing effects through a combination of thermal, audio, visual, indoor air quality and economic comfort.
Saint-Gobain is offering a comprehensive support package for architects, contractors and clients to deliver a limited number of exemplar projects to showcase its new standard in sustainable building, so the team will be on hand to explain the process to visitors wishing to collaborate on an upcoming project.
Stacey continues: “We are looking forward to sharing our knowledge about the Passive House standard and how we are going beyond this to provide additional occupier comfort with our Multi-Comfort concept.”
Visit Saint-Gobain on Stand 19 at the Business Design Centre, London, on 20 October.
