Outstanding delivery and bidding has led to Wates Smartspace securing two further projects with Royal Mail, at their Portsmouth & Chesterfield Delivery Offices worth over £6m.
Impressed by its current work at Blackpool Delivery Office, Royal Mail has appointed Wates to the second stage of the Portsmouth Delivery Office scheme.
The works will adopt a two-stage D&B procurement route, and the Wates Smartspace team will now spend the next 12 weeks developing and agreeing a detailed design, with works on site commencing in late summer.
The Smartspace team has also won an additional contract for Royal Mail’s Chesterfield scheme which involves a logistically challenging demolition programme to a multi-storey car park.
Andy Hughes, Business Unit Director, Wates Smartspace, commented: “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to work on further projects for Royal Mail, following on from the success of our current project in Blackpool.
"Having worked with Royal Mail for several years, we have an excellent understanding of their business and an established approach of collaboration. We’re looking forward to another successful on time and budget completion under this ethos.”
