HFD Group's EcoCampus office development, the final phase of development at Hamilton International Park, Scotland's most successful Enterprise Zone, features glazing systems from leading architectural aluminium supplier Kawneer.
The manufacturer's AA110 zone-drained curtain walling was specified by Mosaic Architecture + Design to achieve narrow 65mm sightlines, with a silver anodised aerofoil cap to create a subtle depth to the façade.
Concealed window vents were designed into each bay to provide natural ventilation and Kawneer's AA110 SSG (Structurally Silicone Glazed) curtain walling was specified at the main entrance and feature stairs to further enhance the quality of design in these public areas.
The glazing systems were installed by Kawneer-approved specialist sub-contractor Linn-Tech for main contractor Balfour Beatty and developer HFD Group on three new office buildings that form the EcoCampus at Hamilton International Park. The EcoCampus is the UK's first carbon-neutral BREEAM Excellent speculative office development in the UK.
The three buildings provide a total of 224,0002ft of Grade A office space linked by a common podium deck. The development provides a new bus stop, communal cycle store, two levels of basement car parking, and not least, renewable wind power from the nearby Blantyre Muir wind farm.
