Following the ample success of Wetherby Building Systems partnership project with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council (KMBC) in Kirkby, plans are now underway for an additional stage of homes to have EWI installed as an energy efficiency measure.
Phase 1 and 2 has proven to be the largest private homeowner scheme in the UK and Wetherby are now delighted to announce that funding has been secured for Phase 3. Phase 3 will look to transform 350 more private homes with EWI under ECO.
To date, 2050 homes have had EWI installed, which could see homeowners make an average saving of £375 on their energy bills. With an anticipated lifespan of the system being in excess of 30 years, residents will continue to live in comfortable, affordable and healthy homes, whilst being less exposed to rising fuel bills and levels of fuel poverty.
Following the application of EWI, the properties are now recognised as ‘thermally efficient’, with a dramatic reduction in U-Value; with a previous value of 2.1 W/m2K, each home in the area now has a U-Value of 0.3 W/m2K.
Wetherby are eager to commence with phase 3, which will see additional homes given a new lease of life in Kirkby, Merseyside.
