As a leading developer committed to building ‘homes’, rather than ‘houses’, Strata Homes prides itself on specifying the highest quality building materials from world-leading suppliers.
This dedication to construction excellence is reflected across its latest luxury developments, Lavish, located in Micklefield, and Esteem, situated in the heart of Dishforth.
As part of the construction of both sites, Forticrete was specified to supply almost 10,000 square metres of Anstone Walling Stone to deliver the first class performance and aesthetics associated with a Strata Homes property.
Located on the outskirts of Leeds in the well-established area of Mickleford, Lavish is an intimate collection of 53 contemporary four and five bedroom homes, which have been individually designed to provide future homeowners with a blank canvas to express their own style and personality.
The Esteem development, which is situated in the picturesque North Yorkshire village of Dishforth, features 72 exclusive two, four and five bedroom homes, ranging from one to three storeys, which feature the very highest specifications.
All of the properties on the Lavish development have been constructed using Forticrete’s leading Anstone Walling Stone, which has been manufactured in a Buff Pitched finish to deliver an impressive weathered effect.
Over three quarters of the homes at the Esteem development have also been built using the same reconstituted walling stone, which seamlessly replicates the appearance of Yorkshire’s natural stone, whilst simultaneously offering Strata Homes unrivalled cost and quality benefits.
Due to the location of both developments, achieving an authentic exterior was a leading consideration throughout the specification process, to not only ensure the properties were accepted by planning, but to create properties with real kerb appeal, whilst still reflecting the native language of the area.
Constructed of carefully selected blends of locally sourced natural aggregates and pigments, which are expertly combined with sand, cement and stones, Forticrete’s reconstituted walling stone authentically reflects the texture and visual appearance of natural stone, whilst providing future homeowners with a robust and durable exterior that requires minimal ongoing maintenance.
Sara Page, Supply Chain Manager at Strata Homes, said: “At Strata Homes, we have no interest in building ‘units’ and selling them to strangers. Instead, we exist to create a new way of living, a lifestyle that demands more from the everyday. By working in close partnership with the supply chain and our customers, we are able to create homes that inspire people to live better and be part of a community that they can be proud of
“Forticrete’s walling stone was specified for both our Lavish and Esteem developments as the building material perfectly complements the local areas of Micklefield and Dishforth. By building the properties with reconstituted walling stone, it makes these developments feel like a natural extension of the beautiful areas they are situated in, whilst offering unrivalled cost and sustainability efficiencies.”
The walling stone, whilst traditional in texture, seamlessly blends with the contemporary glass balconies and sleek window profiles of Strata Homes’ luxury Esteem and Lavish developments. The end result is a collection of homes that provides potential occupiers with the highest standards in aesthetics and functionality, whilst successfully sympathising with the rural landscape.
