Kidde Fyrnetics - the world leader, manufacturing over 30 million smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms every year – has launched its new professional portfolio brochure of hard-wired smoke, heat and CO alarms and 10-year guaranteed sealed-in battery products.

Kidde’s acquisition of Firex created a new force in smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms. Now, the Firex cable-harness range is available alongside the Kidde Slick fast-fit smoke and heat alarm range, featuring wireless interconnect capability. All Kidde products are BS Kitemarked to demonstrate consistent quality.

Slick is the only range of fast-fit rechargeable smoke and heat alarms guaranteed for 10 years. The range now includes a Wireless Alarm Base accessory enabling Slick smoke or heat alarms to be interconnected wirelessly where required. This facility is ideal in existing buildings to avoid disruptive cabling, with each alarm powered from an adjacent lighting circuit.

It is also particularly useful for extending an existing Kidde Fyrnetics hard-wired interconnect installation. This facility can also be used with the Remote Test & Hush switch which is particularly useful for elderly or disabled people, or where alarms are fitted on high ceilings.

For many years, Firex has proved to be a popular range of cost-effective smoke and heat alarms in the UK, particularly with its 6-year guarantee. Its acquisition by Kidde gave the added benefits brought by the world’s largest manufacturer.

The new-look, 2012 Firex range offers a choice of sealed-in rechargeable (three Panasonic lithium cells) or loose battery backup products.

All Firex models have cable harness type connection, are interconnectable up to 24 units, supplied with base-plate and feature a single ‘Hush’ and ‘Test’ button. Accessories include a wired, remote Test and Hush unit, surface pattress and relay pattress for operating remote devices.

The brochure also covers Kidde’s hard-wired carbon monoxide alarms, as well as the latest sealed-in battery powered CO and smoke alarms with a full 10-year guarantee.
