Some of the timber industry's leading speakers and commentators are lined up to take part at Timber Expo later this year. They will be covering the latest topics driving the construction industry's leading low carbon building material forward and revealing a wide range of exciting case study examples of timber in action.
From niche areas to leading trends, Timber Talks will deliver an unrivalled collection of high calibre speakers from all four corners of the built environment including: Andrew Kinsey, Head of Sustainability, Mace; Phil Lewis, Head of BIM, Willmott Dixon; Jonathan Hines, Partner, Architype; Natalie Roberts, Environmental Manager, Land Securities; Richard Partington, Partner, Richard Partington Architects and Gavin White, Structural Engineer, Ramboll UK.
A key element of the UK's leading timber industry show, the free seminar programme will be characterised by key industry topics, major names, super projects and big issues. The Timber Talk sessions will take place on both days of the show on the 24-25 September 2013 at the Birmingham NEC in the Frame Wise Fabric First Theatre and the B & K Structures Solid Wood Theatre. The free seminars will be spread over eight specialist streams chaired by a leading figure in the timber industry.

Organised by TRADA, the Timber Talks programme has drawn on feedback from previous events and fresh market research. "Bigger and better than ever before, the high profile programme is at the heart of this year's show," said Rupert Scott, TRADA Membership & Marketing Manager. "They will provide a valuable opportunity to meet like-minded business professionals. Over two days, 50 presentations will be arranged into core streams that will be case study-based to offer real life examples on how and why timber is performing across a wide range of sectors and applications. Speakers will be drawn from the best industry insiders and those working with timber including architects, engineers, contractors and their clients."
Timber Talks will be also complemented by a new Toolbox Talks area. Here, CPD presentations will focus on the detail of processes, technologies and solutions on display at the show - from manufacturing process to onsite engineering solutions. These will be held in a purpose-built 30 seat presentation theatre exclusive to exhibitors at Timber Expo.
Now in its third year, Timber Expo will be taking place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Birmingham 24-25 September with over 5,000 visitors expected including architects and designers, engineers and contractors, local authorities and a wide range of those working in the built environment.
