The Green Deal retrofit programme is expected to better protect housing stock from fire damage, as well as deliver reduced energy bills.
In order to ensure the success of the Green Deal, homeowners must be exposed to the benefits of retrofit. Older housing stock, which is poorly insulated will incur higher heating bills for the owner. With effective insulation, homes maintain warmth, with the added benefit of improved protection against fire.
Rockwool have launched a YouTube video which demonstrates the fire protection properties of their insulation product.

Rockwool UK Corporate Affairs Director, Paula Bateman says: “If home owners are installing insulation as part of the Green Deal, they should look at the other benefits they can achieve and select energy efficiency solutions that deliver the range of improvements that they are most keen to achieve. Insulation can play a vital role in providing fire protection within buildings."
