Kestrel Timber Frame has designed, manufactured; delivered and erected the timber frame for a two-storey, 24 bedroom extension to a Premier Inn in Kettering.
Erection was completed in just ten days on a site with very restricted access and limited working hours because the existing hotel and associated restaurant remained open throughout.
Kestrel was commissioned by main contractor Barnes Construction which recently announced that it has won contracts to build or extend five Premier Inns as part of a £33 million portfolio of projects for leisure and retail companies.
The Kettering job was Kestrel's first contract with Barnes Construction and also its first job for Premier Inn - but it has already won an additional contract with Sanderson to provide the timber frame for a 22 bedroom, three-story extension to a Premier Inn in Nottingham.
Kestrel commercial director Chris Halliday said: "Our core market has always been timber frames for housing. These Premier Inn projects allow us to demonstrate our capability to tackle larger structures and will hopefully lead to more of this type of work."
