Leading washroom manufacturer, Washroom Washroom, recently completed an extensive project, fitting out new leisure facilities at an East Yorkshire holiday camp.
Sand le Mere, a popular independently-owned holiday camp in Withernsea, East Yorkshire, recently undertook an ambitious £4 million project to upgrade the park, which centred around the building of a brand new on-site leisure centre to open ahead of peak summer season.
Washroom, together with its specialist joinery division, worked on several key areas of the centre, which includes a reception area, swimming pool, entertainment bar, restaurant, coffee shop, amusement arcade, two retail units and a gym. Washroom, which worked around the clock to complete the project in just nine weeks, created a stylish, yet hardwearing finish and provided cohesion throughout with a consistent use of materials and co-ordinating colours.
In addition to fitting out the retail space, manager’s office and first aid room, Washroom also installed a bar in both the main entertainment lounge and restaurant, beautifully finished in oak laminate with dark walnut work tops and fitted out with practical storage units. The reception desk, which was finished with frosted glass screens, creates a striking first impression for guests.
Highly durable Corian, which can be cut to any shape and carry any pattern design, was specified for the work tops in high traffic areas such as the reception desk and a “u” shaped, curved-fronted, counter in the coffee shop/cafe.
The poolside changing cubicles and lockers, which were manufactured in vibrant red, yellow and orange, to complement the design, reflect Washroom’s ability to provide colourful bespoke design solutions.
The toilet cubicles and vanity units installed in both poolside changing areas and washrooms, were specified in solid grade laminate, which as well as being waterproof, has no substrate therefore removing the need for independent edging which could come off. Extremely durable, solid grade laminate provides a hygienic surface which is easy to clean and is ideal for high traffic environments.
Trevor Bowers, Managing Director at Washroom Washroom said: “Working closely with the joinery division, the team made short work of each aspect of the design from changing cubicles and toilets to bars, office and retail space. Once again it shows how, even when working to the tightest of deadlines, Washroom is able to produce quality bespoke design solutions to suit both the client and end user. I’m sure the new building and its excellent facilities will be enjoyed for years to come.”
