Combining a screwless, clip-in design with a unique yoke-free construction, GridLite is the first modular switch range of its kind from BG, enabling installers to build bespoke switch configurations quickly, replace individual modules with ease and adapt installations without changing the entire device.
Designed in response to installer feedback, GridLite delivers a simpler, more versatile approach to modular switching whilst maintaining the premium quality, reliability and aesthetics synonymous with the BG brand.
Designed for faster installation
At the heart of GridLite is a screwless clip-in modular system that removes the need for fiddly fixing screws and allows modules to simply push into place. The innovative yoke-free design also means modules can be installed either way up, giving electricians greater flexibility on site - and speeding up installation.
Installers can wire modules before fitting the faceplate, allowing the plate to be added at the final stage of the job. As well as making installation quicker and more efficient, this helps reduce the risk of damage during decorating or final fix.
Engineered for today's lighting applications, GridLite's single-width modules are rated at 20A, while standard switch modules fit 16mm back boxes, helping to minimise rework on many installations.
Complete modular flexibility
Unlike traditional modular switching systems, GridLite has been designed so that each module can be removed and replaced independently, without removing adjacent modules. Whether replacing a damaged switch, upgrading functionality or adapting an installation to changing customer requirements, installers can modify individual modules without replacing the complete device.
The range includes a comprehensive choice of modules, including standard switches, intermediate and retractive switches, key switches, touch dimmers, blank modules and USB-C charging modules, enabling installers to create bespoke switching solutions across a wide variety of applications.
Further enhancing design flexibility, the compact single-module touch dimmer occupies the same footprint as a standard switch, while up to three modules can be installed on a single square plate to create neat, space-saving installations with no compromise on functionality.
One versatile platform across the BG range
GridLite has been designed to integrate seamlessly across BG's established wiring accessory ranges, including White Moulded, Nexus Metal, Flatplate Screwless, Evolve, Metal Clad and Part M. Using a common modular platform across multiple finishes gives installers the flexibility to deliver a consistent solution throughout a project while allowing customers to choose the finish that best complements their application.
The modular approach also offers practical benefits for wholesalers and contractors by simplifying product selection and reducing stockholding. Rather than carrying multiple finished switch combinations, installers can stock core modules and configure installations as required, making GridLite a flexible solution for domestic, commercial and specification projects alike.
