More than 1,000 new homes have been delivered in Leeds through a long-standing collaboration between Keepmoat, Strata and Leeds City Council.
Since 2016, the duo of housebuilders and the local authority have worked together to transform 13 formerly council-owned brownfield sites across East Leeds, contributing to the council’s strategic housing growth plans under the Leeds Brownfield Land Programme.
Of the 1,000 homes delivered across the 13 sites spanning Seacroft, Halton Moor and Osmondthorpe, more than 25 percent have been provided as affordable homes.
The partnership has also delivered a mix of on and off-site infrastructure including cycle paths, new road connections, greenspace enhancements and the award winning Killingbeck Meadows Flood Alleviation project.
Infrastructure improvements were supported through contributions from West Yorkshire Combined Authority Local Growth Fund.
Councillor James Lewis, Leader of Leeds City Council, said: “By providing much-needed additional housing options for local people, our work with Keepmoat and Strata has had a transformational impact on Seacroft, Halton Moor and Osmondthorpe.
“I’m particularly pleased that we have taken the opportunity to purchase some of these high-quality new homes for use as council housing, supporting our wider efforts to ensure that everyone in Leeds can enjoy the stability and sense of security that comes with having a safe, warm and welcoming place to live.”
Over the course of the project, top 10 housebuilder Keepmoat has created 68 apprenticeships and 175 local jobs to deliver the scheme alongside Strata and Leeds City Council.

The scheme has created multiple multi tenure neighbourhoods to support housing choice for Leeds communities.
