As part of the fire strategy Saper Glass supplied and installed state-of-the-art fire doors (FD60S) to form part of the compartmentalization of each floor plate. There were 26 Visitec fire doors installed by Saper Glass providing a barrier to fire within the central core, protecting the occupants but also maximising light travel through the building.

Visitec doors from Saper Glass are a fully tested E 60 fire door also providing smoke protection. The door design utilises SCHOTT PYRAN S speciality fire glass to support the door in day-to-day use. In the event of a fire PYRAN S retains its transparency and stability, even under high thermal loads, which is vital to make evacuation quicker and safer. The 30mm slim door edge profiles house intumescent smoke seals. In the event of a fire adjacent to the door, then the seals will activate and allow door, glass and frame to form part of the compartment wall, to slow the spread of fire and flames. PYRAN S is a high transmission ultra-white toughened safety glass. The borosilicate composition means there are no Nickel Sulphide inclusions eliminating spontaneous fractures and the need to heat soak test the glass.
