With new plywood products entering the market almost weekly, it can be tempting to focus on price or headline specifications. However, for subfloors beneath high value finishes such as LVT, correct product selection is critical. The difference between a cost saving and a costly failure is verified quality.
Third-party accreditation provides that assurance. The TFT Diamond Mark is a clear, independent indicator that plywood has been rigorously tested for compliance, consistency and structural performance—ensuring reliable strength and stability from board to board.

Compliance with BS 8203:2017 – Annex A (Plywood Specification) is equally essential. As the British Standard code of practice for resilient floor coverings, it defines key requirements for flooring-grade plywood, including construction, surface quality and bond performance. Critically, plywood should meet EN314-2 Class 3, ensuring durable bonding that withstands moisture and site conditions. To minimise telegraphing through thin LVT, face veneers should also be at least 0.75mm thick, providing a smooth, stable surface.
Unaccredited or non-compliant products introduce unnecessary risk. Poor construction, weak bonding or internal voids can compromise flatness and lead to premature failure. That’s why manufacturers and industry bodies insist on accredited, BS-compliant substrates, every layer must perform together.
PERI FLOOR meets these demands, fully compliant with BS 8203:2017 Annex A and backed by the TFT Diamond Mark, delivering consistent, traceable quality.
Don’t leave performance to chance.
