Jennie Daly CBE, Chief Executive of Taylor Wimpey plc, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Future Homes Hub.
Jennie will take over the role on 10 June 2026 from David Thomas, Chief Executive of Barratt Redrow plc, who was appointed in 2022 as the inaugural Chair of the Hub.
The Future Homes Hub is an independent organisation, established to bring the homebuilding industry together to accelerate and deliver an effective transition to building high-quality zero carbon and sustainable homes at scale.
Honoured for services to business and housing in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2024, Jennie has built a successful career in homebuilding spanning both the public and private sectors.
Commenting on her appointment, Jennie said: “It is fundamentally important that the homes and places we build are sustainable, affordable, and provide the foundations for people, communities and nature to thrive in the long term. It is good for business, for customers and for the environment.
“The Future Homes Hub has established itself as a central mechanism for bringing policymakers and the new homes sector together to inform and deliver on future standards.
“I am looking forward to taking on the role of Chair of the Hub and working with builders of all sizes, the wider value chain and with the Government, to help meet the challenges ahead.”
In the past three years, the Future Homes Hub has established a series of implementation boards covering topics including the Future Homes Standard, biodiversity net gain and embodied carbon.
Last year, the Hub published a Net Zero Transition Plan for the new homes sector, setting out a shared pathway and framework for decarbonising new homes. It also launched the Homes for Nature commitment, making nature-friendly measures such as bird-nesting bricks and hedgehog highways the standard on new developments.
David Thomas said: “The new homes industry has made enormous strides in recent years to meet the climate and environmental challenges of the 21st century.
“I am immensely proud of the work the Future Homes Hub has done to support the sector, driving a collaborative culture, supporting SMEs and developing solutions that work for customers and the environment.
“As we face new challenges in the years ahead, Jennie is ideally placed to help lead the Hub through this next phase.”
