As the UK accelerates the transition to low-carbon heating, the need for a skilled and qualified workforce has never been greater.

TrainME has been developed to simplify the journey into heat pump installation, helping professionals at every stage of their career understand what training and qualifications they need to progress with confidence.

The TrainME tool is simple and intuitive to use. By answering a small number of questions about their existing skills, experience and career goals, users receive a personalised training report. This report outlines recommended next steps, clearly identifying the most relevant courses and qualifications required to move forward — whether that is entering the sector for the first time, building on existing heating experience, or working towards MCS accreditation.

In addition to tailored guidance, TrainME provides direct access to Mitsubishi Electric’s online training calendar, allowing users to view upcoming courses and book onto the next available training dates quickly and easily. This integrated approach removes unnecessary barriers and helps installers turn intent into action.

The tool has been designed to support a broad range of professionals. Those exploring heat pumps as a potential career change can use TrainME to understand the training pathway ahead of them, while experienced plumbers and heating engineers can identify the most efficient route to upskill. Installers already working with heat pumps can also use the tool to ensure they are meeting industry requirements and progressing towards recognised accreditations such as MCS.

As an award winning and LCL accredited training provider, Mitsubishi Electric is uniquely positioned to support this journey. The company offers a range of approved and nationally recognised LCL qualifications, alongside its own accredited Ecodan heat pump training. This combination ensures learners gain both robust theoretical understanding and practical, manufacturer-led expertise aligned with real-world installation standards.

Commenting on the launch of TrainME, James Chaplen, Mitsubishi Electric’s Head of Product Marketing and Communications, said: “As demand for heat pumps continues to grow, it’s vital that installers have access to clear, high-quality training pathways. TrainME has been developed to remove complexity and give professionals confidence in the steps they need to take. By combining personalised guidance with access to nationally recognised LCL courses and Ecodan training, we’re supporting higher standards and helping to build a skilled workforce ready for low-carbon heating.”

TrainME reflects Mitsubishi Electric’s wider commitment to supporting the decarbonisation of heat through skills development and training excellence. By providing clarity, accessibility and nationally recognised qualifications, the tool aims to play a key role in strengthening installer competence, consistency and confidence across the UK heat pump market.
