Fixscreen Minimal sun protection fabric shields huge windows
If it's complete peace and calm you're after, Villa Paz (Spain) is a great place to start. This luxury holiday home is located on an enclosed plot and offers views over the green, rolling hills, with the sea to the other side. Huge windows saturate the property with a sense of pure nature and that summer vibe. Even so, this holiday villa stays perfectly cool inside, even at the height of summer. So what's its secret? Cantilevered balconies and Renson Fixscreens Minimals.
The owners of Villa Paz decided to reach out to IDDOMUS, a project developer and construction firm all-in-one. The family wanted a peaceful holiday home where they could fully recharge their batteries, without anything to disrupt the calm. Their search for the perfect location led them to an enclosed plot on a hillside in one of the most prestigious residential communities in the municipality of Benahavís in Andalusia (Spain), with an unbeatable view over the pure natural environment all around. Situated just a few minutes' walk from the coast and the beach, this prime location combined the very best the region had to offer.
A project that lives and breathes luxury
The L-shaped villa opens out to the southwest, allowing its residents and guests to look out over the sea and the mountains, whichever room they are in. The open-plan arrangement on the ground floor connects to the outdoor living spaces via floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. With its infinity pool, sunken lounge and outdoor kitchen, the vast patio offers the ideal setting for a carefree, relaxing holiday. The spaces on the first floor also make the most of the dazzling panoramic views. A designer staircase in wood and steel leads up to the bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and spacious private patio. All throughout the interior, noble materials set the tone for a project that lives and breathes luxury. Wood, stone, marble and metal are united through craftsmanship and sit side-by-side with functional, modern comfort.
The very best of the sun
One thing that sets Andalusia apart is its delightful climate — as long as you can keep it cool inside, that is. Right from the earliest stages of their design, project developer IDDOMUS and GodoyArquitectos made allowances for the fact the home would be completely exposed to the full sun. "We absolutely wanted to avoid saddling the family with a huge air conditioning bill", IDDOMUS' Martti Oliva Koskela is keen to stress. "The delightful balconies on the first floor offered structural sun protection for some of the windows. Sun protection fabric was fitted to most of the other windows. In total, we installed around fourteen Renson Fixscreen Minimals. The slim fabric head boxes and vast selection of fabric colours made the choice easy for us — and for our client, of course. It's invisible until you need it and it keeps the indoor temperature completely under control."
