Mace scoops British Land’s Euston Tower

The global delivery consultants and construction experts, Mace, have been appointed by British Land to redevelop Euston Tower – transforming the existing tower into a 31-storey highly sustainable, world class building at Regent’s Place, the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter.

Built in the 1960s, the redevelopment will see considerable amounts of the original structure retained, including the foundations and core.

The redesigned building will deliver a unique new workspace for the West End, 8,000 sq ft of enterprise space for local entrepreneurs, 4000 sq ft of restaurant and café space, and generous terraces overlooking a revitalised public realm. Euston Tower will be all-electric, both during construction and in its operation.

The design is being led by Danish architects 3XN, supported by Adamson, the structure and MEP is being delivered by ARUP. Completion is expected at the end of 2030.

“Together with British Land, we are setting a precedent for how buildings can be repurposed to meet modern demands while reducing their carbon footprint."

David Lockyer, Head of Development at British Land, commented: “Following planning approval last week, we are pleased to be working with Mace to deliver this incredible scheme – the first West End tower in a generation, and likely to be the last.”

Mace has a long-standing partnership with British Land and most recently delivered the Dock Shed, one of the first buildings to complete as part of the Canada Water masterplan.
