1 Knightsbridge Green, a 400,000 sq ft scheme, will comprise of a new corporate HQ building with a separate building aimed at SME tenants, and extensive retail space. Upon completion in 2029, the amount of office floorspace currently on site will be doubled.
Sustainable development is at the heart of the permission. The development will retain 31% of the existing floorspace and 81% of the structural mass of the original building as a result of the adoption of circular economy principles.
Will Lingard, Senior Director, Planning & Development, said: “1 Knightsbridge Green serves as a model for sustainable development in the heart of the Central Activities Zone.
“Whether retrofitting or redeveloping, growth doesn’t have to come at the expense of climate change and this approval is testament to the teams’ collective input around this.”
