Timber Development UK (TDUK) has announced the return of our annual design conference focused on leveraging timber to create a more sustainable built environment.
Following the great success of last year’s event, which brought together over 200 market leaders and decision makers, we are delighted to be returning this summer to Hamilton House on 3 July 2025.
“Timber is a renewable, sustainable material which can decarbonise our built environment today – based on existing business models and proven technology. Building with wood supports and protects our forests, and creates vast carbon stores in our cities” said David Hopkins, chief executive of TDUK.
“Within the UK, we have an incredible depth of knowledge and leadership on timber design and construction. Creating opportunities for this knowledge to be unlocked – like our UK Timber Design Conference – is one of the best ways we can accelerate a low-carbon future using wood.
“We are extraordinarily proud to have brought this conference together and showcase the incredible innovation happening across the sector. Across the day, attendees will find our speakers combine to show opportunities for the rapid growth of building with wood in the UK – when we work together.
“For anyone connected to timber, whether you are an experienced timber architect or engineer, a developer or council looking to go low-carbon, or a supplier or manufacturer of high-quality products – or an individual just starting in their timber journey – you cannot not miss this event.”
The UK Timber Design Conference has quickly become a highlight of the UK’s built environment calendar, bringing together innovative thinking and technical expertise focused on pushing forward low-carbon timber design. This is an event without parallel in the UK.
Supported by Swedish Wood and PEFC, this must-attend conference attracts hundreds of delegates from across the timber supply chain, including leading developers, local authorities, insurers, engineers, architects, contractors and more.
Join us for a carefully curated programme of talks, discussions and presentations as we explore the frontier opportunities for timber construction in the UK and the instrumental role timber will play in decarbonising our built environment and growing our economy.
Some key discussions of the day will include a look at the partnerships hoping to shake up the industry with new financial models for sustainable development, innovative solutions coming out of the UK timber sector, and the timber revolution taking place in renovation and retrofit.
