Galliford Try’s Infrastructure
business has been appointed by Calderdale Council to a £34m scheme through the
YORcivil framework, that will help revitalise Halifax town centre through the
redevelopment of the A629 route.
The aim of the scheme is to build a more welcoming town centre for Halifax,
through the pedestrianisation of several key access areas, and a re-routing of
the access to the town’s railway station, removing traffic from the centre.
Changes to road layouts are being designed to encourage greener forms of
transport, making walking, cycling and public transport routes easier for
people to access.
