British flooring manufacturer Amtico has launched its second collection in collaboration with the National Trust, Europe’s largest conservation charity.
Following the successful launch of the first collaboration in 2022, the new ‘Amtico Décor x National Trust’ 2023 edit is inspired by elements of the captivating architecture and ornate features of Kedleston Hall, a property cared for by the National Trust in Derbyshire.
The six decorative flooring designs, in meticulously curated colours and patterns, are all created from Amtico’s premium Signature LVT collection with a 1mm wear layer.
The unique geometric shape of Venetian Parquet takes inspiration from the intricate patterns featured on Lady Mary Curzon of Kedleston Hall's iconic 1903 peacock dress. With its roots in traditional Indian embroidery, the peacock feather has been reimagined in this contemporary take on parquet. Available in Wood or Stone, the modern pattern shows linear movement, lending itself perfectly to a textured wood pairing that breaks away from the traditional parquet design, and the use of marble to create a dramatic contrast.
Available in Small and Large, Akari Lattice blends authentic Woods with an effortless pattern that shows the grain's movement and texture. It is inspired by a gilt fretwork cabinet, commissioned in the 18th Century and crafted by London cabinet maker John Linnel. The four single-colour Wood designs offer a variety of looks, from the light tones of Teasel to the more dramatic deep hues of Chicory.
Influenced by the relief work in the ornate ceilings of the Ante-Room at Kedleston Hall, Corinthian delicately balances square, diamond and circle shapes to create an elegant design. Corinthian can be used to flood an area or create a focal point within a commercial space. There are three tonal Stone colourways: Cornice, Capitol and Cove.
Temple Diamond takes influence from the intricate ceiling decoration found in Kedleston Hall’s Grand Saloon. The traditional-meets-modern design is available in three contrasting marble combinations: Florentine, an alluring mix of white, grey and black; Truss, inspired by neoclassical interiors with blue and concrete tones; and Doric, a classic black and white pairing with a bold green marble.
Commenting on the collection, Lorna Williams, Head of Product Design and Visual Creation at Amtico, said: “We are thrilled to launch our second collection with National Trust. Where our primary edit celebrated National Trust properties throughout the UK, this Kedleston Hall Edit is particularly special for us.
“Our design team were mesmerised by this property and its truly unique period features. From the stone coffering and plaster mouldings that delicately line the ceilings, to the ornate textile patterns that adorn Mary Curzon's iconic peacock dress, we have curated a collection that seamlessly blends traditional style with a contemporary look and feel to create beautiful and versatile statement flooring for any space.”
A minimum of £110,000 from the UK sales of this collection will be given to the National Trust to help look after the 500 places, 780 miles of coastline and 250,000 hectares of land in its care.
Some of the projects it will be supporting include the establishment and conservation of woodlands, helping to create new habitats for wildlife and protecting biodiversity.
