Grosvenor has achieved its second NABERS UK Energy rating with a 3* ranking awarded to 33 Davies Street, a 28,900 sq ft office building in Mayfair, London.
NABERS UK is an adaption of the highly successful rating programme NABERS that operates in Australia.
Launched in 1999 NABERS is widely considered to be a world leading environmental performance tool for commercial buildings.
In Australia, the initiative has helped customers save an average of 30%-40% on their energy over 10 years. It plays a vital role in bridging the performance gap between the design and actual in[1]use energy performance of offices and creates much needed transparency for the market.
EP&T Global, a licensed assessor for NABERS UK, analysed 12 months of data from the building and independently certified the 3* rating.
Using this data, Grosvenor will improve the building's performance and target a rating of at least 4.5* by 2025, in line with its stretching environmental commitments. This will be achieved through retrofit measures as well as the monitoring and improvement of key building systems to improve their efficiency, and continued maintenance on the building’s existing solar panels.
In summer 2022, Grosvenor achieved the UK’s first NABERs rating for its Toronto Square asset in Leeds which has also informed an investment programme to enhance the energy efficiency of the asset.
Chantal Henderson, Executive Director, Operations, Grosvenor, commented: "The NABERS UK rating plays an important role in driving transparency around environmental performance of existing offices. Our 3* rating for 33 Davies Street provides valuable insights into the buildings energy performance, and we are committed to making the necessary improvements to enhance its energy efficiency and achieve a 4.5* rating by the end of 2025.
“We’re proud to hold two of the first wave of NABERS UK ratings for existing offices. Our commitment to the significant process of gathering and analysing data supports our goal of driving emissions down by 90% by 2040.”
33 Davies Street is co-owned by Grosvenor Property UK and Stow Capital Partners and is managed by Grosvenor.
