Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) is kick-starting the new year by offering free accreditation upgrades to all one-day Level 2 Industrial & Garage Door Safety courses, as well as the first day of the Level 2 Industrial & Garage Door Safety + Level 4 in Industrial & Garage Door Legislation combined course.
DHF is an Approved Assessment Centre for ABBE (Awarding Body for the Built Environment), that offers the only theory based formal Ofqual qualification for the industrial door industry.
The free upgrade, worth £50, will automatically be added to both face-to-face sessions, and the Distance Learning Programme (DLP) training courses taken in the month of January.
As such, the Tamworth-based trade association is making this month an unofficial ‘safety month’ for Industrial Doors and Garage Doors to shine a light on the importance of continued safe installation, repair, and maintenance in the industrial door and domestic garage door sector.
“DHF’s ‘gate safety week’ campaign (later re-named ‘gate safety month’) was launched in 2014 and has become a year-round campaign to raise awareness and educate the public and industry professionals on the dangers of poor installation and maintenance of automated gates,” explains DHF’s Head of Commercial Operations, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens. “By promoting a similar safety message for industrial and garage doors each January, we can hopefully achieve the same level of responsiveness and recognition across the industry.”
The federation is renowned for the emphasis and importance that it places on training and continues to offer both face-to-face courses at its Tamworth Academy, and online programmes. In 2022, DHF trained close to 1000 delegates, the majority of whom are members of the trade association. This year, DHF will continue its exceptional work in this area, as well as increasing its training offering in the Republic of Ireland and increasing its membership (now more than 500).
“We are delighted to be able to offer free accreditation upgrades for the remainder of this month and continue to drive standards when it comes to training, development and certification,” continues Patricia.
