Planted, the first design events and media platform promoting nature-based brands and businesses, will return to King’s Cross for this year’s London Design Festival 23 - 25 September 2022.
Planted, which launched in 2021, will return to King’s Cross to recreate their stunning off-grid mobile cabin installation on Granary Square, alongside an inspiring and educational talks programme titled ‘Natural abundance, Unnatural waste.’
The nature-inspired cabin, designed by Out of the Valley, will be furnished with beautifully crafted pieces by award-winning British brand Another Country, Naturalmat’s 100% organic natural bedding materials, Marque Sussex’s well-crafted ethical furniture pieces, decorative lighting by Tala and insulated with Thermafleece’s natural hemp.
A six-part talks programme across two days led by Planted's biophilic design adviser Oliver Heath and co-founder Sam Peters, will explore themes around biodiversity in the built environment, nature-based design systems, and regenerative spaces to restore nature’s abundance while reducing the unnatural wastage associated with packaging, food and energy consumption.
Planted co-founder Deborah Spencer said: “This will be our third year at King’s Cross and the conversations we are driving have never been more pressing.
“Reducing consumption, while enabling nature to regenerate following decades, if not centuries of abuse at the hands of humankind, is absolutely at the forefront of people’s minds right now.
“We have designed ourselves into a twin carbon and biodiversity crisis, the question is: how can we design our way out of it?”
Planted will run from 23 - 25 September as part of the London Design Festival at King's Cross, London. All talks are free to attend on a first-come, first-served basis.
