Sarah Wigglesworth Architects (SWA) will once again be participating in the London Festival of Architecture throughout the month of June 2021 with a range of stimulating activities and talks.
The award-winning practice will invite architects and architecture enthusiasts to explore its much-loved projects across the city on two wheels, and founder Sarah Wigglesworth will appear in a film that explores how to design workspaces that address the work-life balance.
Wigglesworth will also be speaking as part of a series of talks focused on the reclamation of Western Europe’s largest, now closed women’s prison, Holloway. SWA will also support the next generation of architects by participating in a panel discussion focused on bridging the gap between university and practice, and by offering advice on CVs and portfolios.
SWA’s self-guided cycle tour of its most iconic projects across London returns with an updated map that can be downloaded from the practice’s website.
Projects include Space Studios in E9, Brickfield Studios E3, and in the Elephant & Castle area with a cluster of past projects —Siobhan Davies Dance Studios, Muro Court, Wardroper House and Bermondsey Cycle Store.
As well as cycle routes and great recipes for cycle snacks, SWA invites hardcore cyclists to head for Kingston to see the newly completed cycle hub and bridge.
SWA is a pioneering, award-winning design practice that specialises in designing for sustainable communities. The practice has spent the past two and a half decades creating people-centred places that are joyful, inventive and resourceful. Its portfolio includes cultural and community buildings, private and social housing, master planning and educational schools and centres.
