Sustainability is at the centre of the Uzin Utz Group’s corporate philosophy and the majority of our product developments have been based on making our products more environmentally friendly.
Part of this strategy is to challenge the status quo and question the methods we use especially in the manufacturing process.
In the past few years we started to change our plastic canisters by reducing the amount of virgin plastic and increasing the percentage of recycled plastic content known as PCR (post-consumer recycled).
We are now pleased to announce that since March 2020 all our plastic canisters are made from 100% recycled plastic. These new canisters can in turn also be recycled. Based on this change the Uzin Utz Group now saves approx. 80 tons of CO2 per year as the new canisters have a 50% lower CO2 footprint. The new packaging makes a significant contribution to environmental protection and helps contribute to the group’s sustainability strategy.
Packaging is just one area the Uzin Utz Group is looking to improve and continually invests into sustainable solutions. Our products are responsibly sourced and manufactured to meet ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Most of our products have been awarded EMICODE EC1 Plus® certification to ensure our products are solvent-free, very low emission and guarantee excellent indoor air quality.
We will continue to adopt the best environment practices and aim to work in such a way that everything we create is sustainable.
