More
than 100 architects, specifiers and construction industry influencers came
together in London last month for the launch of Ibstock PLC’s brand-new
showroom.
The
I-Studio, based in Farringdon, is set to serve as a hub of innovation,
ingenuity and inspiration for the UK’s burgeoning architectural sector.
Welcoming
guests to the studio, Joe Hudson, CEO of Ibstock, introduced the company’s new
senior leadership team and shared his vision for the business’ future.
Attendees also heard from a number of keynote speakers, including prominent
social entrepreneur, Lord Andrew Mawson OBE.
Taking
to the lectern at the studio, Lord Mawson shared his insights into the positive
impact architecture can have on communities, and guided listeners through his
role in the regeneration of Stratford following the 2012 Olympic Games. Other
prominent speakers included Alexis Harrison, an associate at Arup, who explored
the significant opportunities The I-Studio represents for the UK’s
architectural community.
Speaking
at the event, Joe Hudson commented: “If Ibstock is at the heart of building,
then The I-Studio sits at the very forefront of architectural innovation and
inspiration. As the UK’s leading manufacturer of clay bricks and concrete
building projects, Ibstock is uniquely positioned to understand the needs of
architects, specifiers and builders – an understanding which first led to The
I-Studio.

showroom represents a golden opportunity for UK designers and specifiers, and

boundaries of design and create the buildings of tomorrow, today.”
Alongside
a chance to see the studio first hand, attendees were also invited to trial
Ibstock’s unique product selector, which enables architects to select from any
of the products showcased in the studio and display how it would look in a
finished build.
The
function is backed by Ibstock’s experienced design team, who can provide
insight into the best products to meet the individual requirements of each
project.
Joe
concluded: “Now that the I-Studio is officially opened, we welcome
professionals from across the architectural and specification industry to visit
the showroom and see first-hand how it could benefit their next project. We’re
looking forward to fostering new relationships via the studio, and also further
strengthening our offering for existing clients.”
