ELCO Heating
Solutions has supplied two THISION L ECO 70kW condensing gas boilers to the
headquarters of Curver UK – the international company and European market
leader in the production of home and leisure products.
The installation was
part of an upgrade to the heating and hot water system at the Redruth-based
office facility, with the new THISION L ECO boilers replacing old and
inefficient units.
The two new boilers
were installed on a wall mounted cascade frame, complete with low loss header,
a 100/150 room sealed flue gas system and cascade insulation kit.
The main contractor
for the project was Blue Flame (Cornwall) Ltd, with manager Duncan Impey taking
the lead. Explaining the refurbishment further, Duncan said: “As commercial
heating specialists, we were brought in to design, manage and construct a new heating
and hot water system for the offices. Central to the project was replacing the
old boilers, which had become unreliable and beyond their economical life.
“We needed to
specify two wall mounted units, so after speaking to ELCO, it was agreed that
the new THISION L ECO boilers were the ideal replacements, offering a great
balance of efficient performance and simple installation. Overall, the boilers
have helped contribute to a really successful job.”
The new THISION L
ECO boiler is available in three outputs from 66kW to 120kW, with each version
utilising state-of-the-art design to produce a class-leading unit. A robust
stainless steel heat exchanger provides long term performance and efficiency,
while a flue non-return valve, built-in modulating pump and on-board cascade
controls ensure this new boiler is a practical fit for a wide range of
commercial applications.
The new ELCO boilers
easily met the requirements of the project, thanks to a unique HEX geometry in
the heat exchanger, as well as a flatbed burner, which both provide the boilers
with exceptional performance. These two components also allow two THISION L ECO
boilers to operate at maximum efficiency, while keeping NOx and CO emissions
extremely low.
Servicing the
boilers is also straightforward, thanks to the THISION L ECO’s specially
designed internal configuration, which provides easy access to key components,
as well as allowing simple removal of the burner. Furthermore, a ‘Turn-Click
Logic’ mechanism ensures no tools are required to replace the boiler’s
electrodes.
