New Commercial Director Joins W.Howard Team

Leading MDF profile supplier, The W.Howard Group will this month welcome new Group Commercial Director, Simon Fleet to its growing business. Fleet, from Shrewsbury joins the W.Howard team in its landmark 60th anniversary year and will be heading up the sales, marketing and customer services operations.

Simon has over 15 years experience in sales management having undertaken senior roles at Thomas Dudley Ltd and Bostik Adhesives. As Group Commercial Director for W.Howard his remit will be to oversee activity for W.Howard Profilings, in a addition to its Polyco and KOTA brands in the UK and Ireland.

Speaking about his appointment, Simon said: "I am really thrilled to be taking on this role at such an exciting time for the Group. I'm looking forward to working with the team, as well as the opportunity to expand the brands further in the market, especially its KOTA and Polyco products. I am committed to helping the business continue to be the brand of choice for both the building merchant and the end user."

2018 marks 60 years in business for the W.Howard Group which established as a traditional timber merchant in 1958, to serve the local house building and construction industries in the North West. The business has steadily grown its market share for manufacturing and supplying one of the largest MDF profile ranges in Europe and has become a preferred partner to merchants, manufacturers and distributors within the construction industry.

The Group consists of W.Howard Limited (Manchester & London), Polyco Limited (Powys) and W.Howard Kildare Limited (ROI). It supplies MDF profiles from its head office in Astley near Manchester which features a 100,000 sq ft factory and a 80,000 sq ft distribution centre whilst in the South East it operates a dedicated collection and distribution depot based in West Thurrock. These are supported by further manufacturing sites in Newtown, Wales and Kildare, Ireland.

Working with builders merchants, specialist trade manufacturers and the public, its products include skirtings, architraves, window boards, doorlinings and bespoke products. The business produces primed, veneered, foil wrapped and fully finished profiles as well as its popular KOTA finish, following the acquisition of the Kildare plant in 2016.
