The world’s leading manufacturer of acoustic ceiling solutions, SAS International, has introduced an updated range of mesh ceiling tiles.
As the design of the commercial interior evolves, so too does the choice of materials. Whilst modern, corporate environments suit some organisations, the use of glass, concrete and metal suits others.
In line with this desire for more tactile, semi-industrial feeling environments, mesh has become an increasingly popular ceiling finish. SAS International has created a comprehensive range of mesh ceiling designs to cater to this industrial-style aesthetic.
Mesh offers a practical solution for creating ceilings, whether driven by aesthetic needs or practical requirements such as integration of building services. It is specified for its texture and pattern, sympathetic to the industrial workplace trend. Ideal for smoke extraction due to its high open area, mesh also has the ability to be integrated with M&E services such as sprinklers and lighting.
Compatible with multiple SAS International systems, the range consists of a number of designs – Celtic, Tene, Brig, Tara, Kells and Vix – each offering diamond or hexagonal patterns in varying sizes as standard. They are all available in the standard range of RAL colours. Able to be tailored to complex building layouts, it can be adjusted to create bespoke designs.
Highly versatile mesh can be used to create a number of different interior effects. Its textured surface provides depth and visual interest. It also changes visually when viewed from different angles, offering open and closed views. The ‘open view’ allows light to pass through the gaps while the ‘closed view’ reflects light on the surface depending on the viewer's perspective.
The reflective nature of expanded metal means that lighting – a key component of an interior project – can be incorporated to add creative impact. From discreet back-lit illumination to bold up-lighting, mesh provides architects and designers with further creative freedom. Bespoke mesh tiles can also be designed with laser-cut apertures for lights and sensors and incorporate acoustic pads to absorb sound.
Mesh is a contemporary and versatile ceiling solution. Non-combustible and available in a range of patterns and colours, it can be tailored to exact project requirements, helping to create modern industrial influenced interiors.
