A UZIN system was used to install approximately 300 m2 of vinyl tiles at Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust. The flooring contractor Superior Finish (Contracts) Ltd was asked to replace the 30 year old floor with new vinyl tiles. The new flooring had to be installed in the very busy corridors that link different areas of the hospital, so the contractor installed the new floor overnight and in sections so the corridors could be used whilst the job was being carried out. As the corridors are frequently used to transport beds and patients between various departments, Superior Finish (Contracts) Ltd turned to a UZIN system due to their extremely reliable installation systems. Electric tugs are also used daily to deliver patient meals so the floor needed to stand up to the rigorous demands placed upon it.
Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust is committed to providing the highest standards of healthcare, so required a low emission flooring installation. To meet these high safety standards, UZIN products were chosen to ensure that VOC’s were kept to a minimum. UZIN PE 280 was first used to prime the floor, before UZIN NC 150, a heavy duty smoothing compound, was applied to create a flat substrate. UZIN KE 2000 S, a low VOC adhesive, was then used to install the vinyl tiles. The job was exceptionally well finished resulting in a sound, durable and attractive floor.
