In 2015, the MoD sold their 112-year-old garrison in Arborfield, Wokingham to developers.
As part of a wider regeneration scheme, the new Arborfield Green development will see the former garrison transformed into a sustainable garden village that, when completed, will include new homes and schools, shops, offices, restaurants and parks.
One school is Bohunt which opened in September 2016 for 110 year-seven pupils in temporary accommodation while a new £35 million building rose from the construction site next door. This state of the art facility will be ready for 1,500 pupils in September 2017.
Hard landscaping plans for the new school featured pathways and two large ‘amphitheatre’ style courtyards which were designed to provide external classrooms and create areas to eat and socialise.
SureSet Permeable Paving were contracted by Dawnus to install the resin bound aspect of the project, and in June 2017 were on site for five days laying and impressive 1,461m² of Barley Beach resin bound paving.
The smooth, accessible SureSet surface provides a welcoming entrance to the main entrance and seamlessly links together other areas of the school; completely transforming the outside of the school.
