Washroom Washroom adds touch of class to iconic building

Leading washroom designer and manufacturer Washroom Washroom has played its part in the refurbishment of a landmark office in Slough to a ‘Grade A’ standard.

The iconic seven-storey building at Heathrow Approach, which occupies a strategic positon adjacent to the M4, was built 15 years ago and until 2015 was occupied exclusively by Honda.

The building has now been extensively remodelled by international construction services company, ISG. Following the refurbishment, which included a new landscaped approach, redesigned brickwork fin element, plus striking atrium and entranceway, Heathrow Approach now provides Grade A office accommodation and easily meets modern accessibility standards.

As part of the multi-million pound project, Washroom installed new male and female washrooms on four levels of the building in both the East and West cores, as well as creating a new staff shower and changing area in the basement - all delivered to the highest specification.

Washroom’s full height, flush front Alto toilet cubicles were specified with a dark walnut straight grain real wood veneer finish. The cubicle’s unique rebated edge design provides an attractive virtually seamless façade, while it offers complete privacy for users thanks to its floor-to-ceiling doors.

Washroom’s Concerto integrated duct panel system, which was installed behind the toilets and urinals, was finished in the same real wood veneer to create a smooth finish. The system is designed to be easy-to-clean and allow ease of access for future repairs or maintenance, making it a popular choice for office washrooms.

The crisp white Zodiac stone vanities complete the high specification design. Comprised of 93 per cent quartz, the vanities catch and reflect light, bringing clarity and consistency of colour to the facility, along with exceptional strength and durability.

The staff shower and changing area in the basement features the same white Zodiac stone vanities along with Washroom’s bespoke locker system also finished in white to create a bright clean and contemporary space.

Trevor Bowers, director at Washroom Washroom said: “The main atrium of the new Heathrow Approach building, with its stone floor and mix of high gloss lacquer, wood veneer, and fabric panels, makes an impact as soon as you walk into the building.

"By using high quality wood veneer for the toilet cubicles in the washrooms, we’ve helped create a sense of cohesion between different areas of the building, which is something that clients are increasingly keen to see.”
