The five second rule has always been questioned whether it is true or a myth, a saying that have been used to justify eating food from the floor. It is recommended to not eat food you have dropped on the floor even it is for five seconds, although some believe there is no harm in a little dirt. It all comes down to bacteria contaminating the food, it is harder for dry food to harbor bacteria whereas wet food it is a lot easier.

Food that has been dropped on the floor with probably not cause any harm to our bodies but it is not entirely risk free.
