Global building product manufacturer Sika has joined the Construction Products Association’s (CPA) Industry Principals Council.
The Industry Principals Council comprises 27 of the UK’s leading product manufacturers, many of which, like Sika, are global brands. A driving force in determining the Association’s policies, strategies and priorities, the Council discusses the Association’s work and offers input to the board and senior management to help drive change and growth across the industry.
“We are delighted to have been invited to join the CPA’s Industry Principals Council,” commented Dragan Maksimovic, General Manager of Sika Limited. “I am pleased that Sika will not only have a voice within this organisation but our company will also be associated with such a respected and influential group of construction product manufacturers and distributors.
“Membership to the Council will not only offer greater access to the kind of expertise and insight which will help our business grow through addressing the risks and opportunities ahead but it will also enable us to play a part in helping to shape the future of the UK’s construction product market.”
Dr Diana Montgomery, CPA Chief Executive, said: “The CPA is very pleased to welcome Sika Limited amongst our largest and most influential company members, and we appreciate the vote of confidence in our work which their commitment represents. As a leader across its markets, Sika will bring a unique knowledge and perspective to the issues impacting not only its own sectors but the wider construction and manufacturing industries our association is engaged with. We’re looking forward to working together.”
Sika is a specialty chemicals company with a leading position in the development and production of systems and products for bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protecting in the building sector and the motor vehicle industry. Sika has subsidiaries in 93 countries around the world and manufactures in over 170 factories. Its approximately 17,000 employees generated annual sales of CHF 5.49 billion in 2015.
In the UK, Sika has manufacturing sites in Welwyn Garden City, Preston, and Leeds. Its 700 employees provide market-leading solutions for a range of applications in flooring, concrete, waterproofing, roofing, refurbishment, sealing & bonding, and industry and contribute towards a turnover of £190 million.
The CPA is the leading voice for UK construction product manufacturers and distributors. Championing members’ interests, the organisation aims to raise the profile of the industry and members’ businesses, whilst helping to grow the market and reducing regulatory risk. This is achieved through representing members across industry-wide organisations and alliances, whilst monitoring, supporting and lobbying government and public bodies in the UK and European Union to develop effective, evidence-based policies and solutions.
