Spectus has capped one of its most dynamic years ever with the launch of its latest Specification Guide, with information on two completely new PVC-U systems, a vastly extended stock foil range and updates on specification, legislation and other features of the Spectus product range.
The biggest additions in this 8th Issue Guide are Spectus’s all-new Flush Casement and Flush Tilt & Turn systems, both already winning the acclaim of architects and specifiers.
The Flush Tilt & Turn system is Spectus’s challenge to aluminium for architects and specifiers looking for a high-specification but cost-effective alternative in the urban medium/high-rise environment. The result of significant investment, the Flush Tilt & Turn system, with its unique six-chamber sash and five-chamber outer frame, can achieve U-Values as low as 0.8 W/m2K (WER A++) without the need for expensive Krypton gas filling. The system also has a maximum opening size of 1,450mm wide X 2,300mm, a unique anti-switch barrier to prevent accidental movement between the two opening functions, also an anti-slam safety feature as standard and concealed hinges and gearing.
The Flush Casement system offer an authentic alternative to timber, replicating the character of the classic 19th Century style, especially suited to heritage applications as well as modern buildings, but with advanced security and energy-efficiency features including u-values down to 1.2 W/m²K and WER A+ rating and optional second and third weather seal.
The guide also features the entire range of colour options and woodgrain foil finishes to support the specifiers’ creative flair. The ability to specify a range of grey coloured frames means a project can achieve an aluminium appearance with the cost benefits of PVC, giving specifiers greater choice, and more colours available from stock for quick turnaround.
Among other updates, the Guide outlines how Spectus is working to support architects and specifiers in the drive to reduce environmental impact in line with Government and European policy.
Also of course, it highlights many of the existing features and services offered by Spectus, such as its tried and trusted Elite 70 PVC-U system as well as its Approved Window Contractor network. Recognised as the best of its kind in the industry, the Scheme offers commercial clients a nationwide network of fabricators and installers, every one trained, qualified and experienced to a standard appropriate to commercial contracts of all sizes, value and complexities.
Spectus Technical Director Martin Althorpe said: “There has been a lot going on at Spectus in the last 12 months, including these exciting new systems and our greatly increased range of coloured foils from stock, as well as our gaining A++- Rating on some products. The new Specification Guide will bring architect and specifiers fully up to date with all of these new developments and also includes a full Technical Guide with more in-depth details of all of our products."
